Track’em® has won its first contract in Africa, for a South African mine expansion site.
The company will track and manage construction materials for Katenge Tubular, which is developing the filter plant extension at Exxaro’s Medupi Expansion Project at its Grootgeluk mine in theLimpopo province.

Saleem said the contract was organised working through Track’em’s African representative, Barry Venter from Katenge Tubular (Pty) Ltd, one ofSouthern Africa’s largest privately owned construction companies.

Track’em’s software will track the filter plant’s 533 tonnes of structural steel, 66 tonnes of platework and 4 km of piping.
The expansion project, situated in Lephalale in South Africa’s Limpopoprovince, is a Detail, Fabricate, Install and Commission project consisting of approximately 9,000 tonnes of structural steel, 1600 Tons of platework and 25km of piping. The expanded Grootegeluk mine will supply 14,6Mtpa of power station coal for 40 years to Eskom’s adjacent Medupi power station, currently under construction.
